Available sizes and how they work

Inspired by Japanese Ikebana, The Slate Vase is designed to support both low, table-friendly arrangements and more sculptural, taller displays. Each vase features a shallow water saucer with a built-in kenzan (spike frog), allowing stems to be placed securely at many angles.

All sizes work beautifully for low arrangements. Larger sizes simply offer more stability, water capacity, and flexibility as stem height and weight increase.

Size guide

Small (11 cm saucer)
Best for short arrangements, single stems, or minimal groupings. Ideal for desks, bedside tables, shelves, or intimate spaces.

Medium (13 cm or 15 cm saucer)
A versatile everyday size. Suitable for short or medium-height arrangements, mixed stems, and relaxed floral styling.

Large (17 cm saucer)
Provides added weight and stability, making it well suited to short, medium, or taller arrangements, statement stems, and fuller displays.

Deluxe (Premium Range - 21+ cm)
Features a larger water reservoir and an authentic Japanese kenzan (42 mm or 52 mm). Designed to support thicker stems, more stems, and dramatic tall arrangements — while still working beautifully for refined, low table settings.

Each vase is handmade one by one on the Sunshine Coast. Natural variation in stone colour, shape, and texture is part of what makes every piece unique.
Once sold, each vase is gone.

Indicative pricing

Each vase is handmade from natural slate, so pricing varies slightly with stone weight, hardness, and character. Typical ranges are:

  • Small: $50–$65

  • Medium: $65–$85

  • Large: $80–$95

  • Extra-Large: $95–$110 (limited availability)

  • Deluxe (Premium Range): most commonly $150–$165

  • Custom Extra-Sized Deluxe: from $200+

Most Deluxe vases fall within the $150–$165 range. Occasionally, pricing may vary slightly depending on stone size, weight, and kenzan choice.

Can’t see any vases available?

I work in small batches and often sell out at markets before pieces make it online.

If you’d like to purchase a vase:

  • Send me a message with your preferred size, rough budget, and delivery location

  • I can share photos and short videos of available pieces for you to choose from

*** Email or text is best — I often send selection photos directly to mobiles.

Small-batch production means availability changes weekly, but I regularly post Australia-wide and am always happy to help you find the right piece.
